Behind the Price
Every Jaggery product begins with the careful sourcing and rescue of end-of-life materials that would otherwise be discarded or incinerated. Materials such as car seat belts, cargo lashing belts, ex-army canvas, and textile waste are manually collected, cleaned, sorted, disassembled, and prepared for reuse. The design team then reimagines these materials into contemporary products through a process of creative remanufacturing and handcrafted production. Beyond environmental impact, each piece supports a network of artisans, women-led groups, and underserved communities across India, generating circular livelihoods and preserving valuable making skills. Because the source materials vary in texture, color, and history, many products carry unique characteristics that reflect their previous life, making every piece distinctive. This combination of waste diversion, material innovation, skilled craftsmanship, ethical production, and social impact contributes to the value behind each Jaggery product.
