Made from 100% Carpathian sheep's wool, this traditional design is based on archival ornaments found throughout the region. A lizhnyk can be used as a carpet, blanket, or displayed as a decorative piece.

Wool came from two Carpathian sheep.

Material: 100% Carpathian sheep's wool

Care: Vacuum regularly with a plain suction vacuum or lightly brush longer rugs. Keep wool pieces out of direct sunlight and damp or wet conditions. Blot spills gently with a damp cloth and mild detergent, avoiding rubbing. Dyed products are best dry-cleaned. Smaller natural wool items can be washed at 30°C/86°F with a wool-safe detergent and then air-dried flat, away from direct sun. Do not tumble dry, iron, or bleach.

Behind the Price

GUSHKA was founded in the Kosiv region, where weaving has been part of everyday life for generations. Other than using wool from their own flock of 200 sheep, they also source from small farms across the Carpathians. The raw, unprocessed wool is cleaned and sun‑dried, sometimes dyed with the help of a craftswoman who has been practicing her craft for over 30 years using only water, dye, and vinegar, then carded on an old machine and finally spun by hand.
